An African Mindset

My father, during my 21st birthday speech said to me and my friends that Africa was the future . . .  Later he had his butt kicked for not sticking to the topic i.e. ME!

Nearly 10 years later I am beginning to understand the value of an African mindset. While South African offers a rather static but solid foundation to create a business the rest of the continent is experiencing enormous growth.

African countries were more resilient to the financial crisis of 2008 and ricocheted from their slump quicker than their Western counterparts. Rich in natural resources and largely commercially untapped, countries like Nigeria are set to become big economic players on the world’s stage. Natural wealth brings investment, and lots of it.

Business leaders here in South Africa are perfectly poised to take advantage of the opportunities right here on our door step. We have the infrastructure to reap the rewards of playing the middleman.

LIVEOUTLOUD while inexperienced in doing business north of the Limpopo is excited by the prospects and is gearing itself to embrace a more African mindset.
